Originally a financial specialist, Patrick Young has run various businesses and been a director/advisor as well as managing multiple projects throughout the world across asset classes, including advising many of the world’s exchanges.
His futuristic books on the future of finance have been shaping financial market thinking throughout the past decade. Beginning with “Capital Market Revolution!” in 1999, Patrick outlined a “ruthless vision” of the digital financial marketplace which proved highly accurate in many of its (then) astonishing predictions.

Having originally gained experience in emerging markets in Asia during the 1990's, Young currently spends much of his time dealing with the New Europe, all the way from the Baltics to the Balkans. He was CEO of the SIBEX Sibiu Stock Exchange in Romania until May 2011 and runs a private investment vehicle for the New Europe Projekt Vistula Sp z o.o. from Torun in Central Northern Poland. This business has had operations in property and tourism as well as various other sectors. Patrick also served on the Investment Committee and board of a private equity fund investing in the Balkans until September 2012.

Young was the founding Chairman of the Global Financial Services Centres Conference in 2007 and this year created his own conference, Young Markets looking at the future of finance, based in Transylvania.
