Alfie is an experienced and versatile humorous speaker, presenter and comedy writer with his distinctive niche area as a serving police sergeant (currently on a sabbatical). A natural and truly charismatic raconteur, his thrilling insights into life at the front-line of the police force will not only alter your perspective on the ‘boys in blue’ but have you in fits of laughter. Alfie has found that walking the beat and dealing with everyday incidents has generated a host of humorous stories that you ‘just couldn’t make up’.

He brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his eighteen years on the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival! Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield he was an engineering apprentice in the steelworks before joining the Police.

Alfie’s observational comedic style lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing. This ability to present everyday issues in a comedic way led to a commission from an NHS Trust to develop and deliver material to raise awareness of issues about men’s health.

He has written and presented two series of his prime-time BBC Radio Four comedy series ‘IT’S A FAIR COP’ which received both public and critical acclaim being described by the Daily Mail as “offbeat, revealing and very funny”. A third series is currently being considered by the BBC commissioning panel. Alfie was one of the stars of ‘Show Me The Funny’ (ITV) and wrote and presented ‘Alfie Moore’s Almanac’ for BBC Radio. More recently he has been featured on The Wright Stuff (Channel 5), Comic Relief, Sky News, BBC Radio 4’s Idiots Guide to Crime and Punishment, BBC Look North, ITV Calendar, Bizarre Crime (BBC 3), and Confessions of a Police Officer (Channel 4).

He has four times written and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, including ‘I PREDICTED A RIOT’ and his critically acclaimed show about gambling ‘VIVA ALF’S VEGAS’. During August 2014 he debuted ‘THE NAKED STUN’ in Edinburgh where it was a total sell-out for the full month of the Festival run and was subsequently toured both nationally and internationally. His 2015 show ‘A FAIR COP STANDS UP’ was nominated for Best Comedy at the Buxton Festival and sold out in Edinburgh. Alfie has also supported Rhod Gilbert, Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national comedy tours.

After Dinner

Stand Up

“Alfie immediately put our guests at ease when he took to the stage at a recent client luncheon and seminar. A true professional and genuinely funny man, Alfie managed to both fascinate our guests with his entertaining stories and lift the room to laughter with brilliantly executed jokes without compromising our formal lunchtime brief! I would definitely recommend Alfie for similar events.” Paul Braddock, Braddock Thornton Wealth Management

“Alfie spoke at the Annual Steel Industry Dinner and went down a storm – he is one of the best we have had. He is master of the dry delivery of some very funny tales and he instantly captured the mood of the evening. When the formal part of the event was over, Alfie stayed and chatted to the guests, a gesture which was much appreciated. We would thoroughly recommend him”. Ian Harding, President of NASS

“Great after dinner light-hearted, intelligent speaker. Genuinely funny, topical, interactive and pitched just right to a mixed audience – no swearing, never offensive or rude. One of the best – felt we were in safe hands”. Martin Axon, HR Director, Clugston Construction Ltd

“It was clear that Alfie had done his homework prior to our event and hence the style and content was perfect with delivery that was well judged and targeted at the audience in question. Very positive feedback from all who attended. I would not hesitate to recommend him”. Mark Newton, Managing Director, Soleco UK Ltd

“What an entertainer – a mixed audience and they all laughed out loud. No innuendo, no smut, just very clever observations on the law, lawyers, police and the public. The best charter speaker we have had in living memory”. Rodger Heathcote, President of The Rotary Club of Chesterfield Scarsdale

I think you pitched the content and humour perfectly for our event, making it a very successful and entertaining evening for us”. Nick Wynn-Williams, President Wolverhampton Law Society

“I have heard Alfie Moore speak at two formal Rotary occasions, and at both events the word I would use to describe him is – brilliant. He adapts his material to suit the audience most professionally. I would highly recommend him as an entertainer for both a mixed, and single sex audience”. Paul Bacon, President of the Rotary Club of Mansfield

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed your after dinner speech at the Burnley and Pendle Annual Law Dinner. You struck exactly the right balance for the audience and any future speakers will have a hard act to follow. As a final note I just wanted to mention how helpful you were in the planning stages given that it was the first time I had organised the dinner”. Hannah Lamb, Burnley & Pendle Law Society

“After hearing Alfie speak at an event, I subsequently booked his services for an Awards ceremony that I was arranging for one of my clients. Alfie proved to be extremely entertaining and I received fabulous feedback. Several guests saying that they just didn’t stop laughing! He is excellent”. Barbara Hallwood, Director, Marketing Profile

“He has a nice, relaxed style which combines with the inherent interest in the on-the-job stories to make him someone you just want to listen to. There’s no way of escaping this conclusion: he’s an arresting storyteller”. Steve Bennett, Chortle

“Just to say thanks for entertaining us all – we thoroughly enjoyed your company and performance. The content was absolutely spot on, you delivered well and appeared to be enjoying yourself which is always good from an audience perspective. I think the audience’s response was further evidence of your fantastic performance”. South Yorkshire Occupational Health Advisors Conference

“Alfie was the guest speaker this year and the feedback from everyone afterwards was how entertaining he was with a good mixture of interest and comedy. His view on the police, the judiciary and the public was so funny. I would be very happy to recommend him for any similar event”. Lymm and District Round Table No. 796

“The mix of humour and real life experience through the eyes of a serving policeman made the entertainment very enjoyable and suited the audience on the day. I have to say that on a personal note I was impressed with the way you kept the content clean whilst at the same time remaining very funny, which is the sign of a good performer”. Hull Ionians RUFC
